Boston Marriage

As some of you already know I have been crazy busy for the last few months. I have been spending my extra time working on a show at Compass Theatre. It has been quite the experience let's just say. Thursday night we finally open. I think after much hard work we have quite a good show on our hands. It's very funny and the girls have a great chemistry. I would however not recommend it for the younger folks, there are quite a few sexual innuendos.

The show is Boston Marriage and all information can be found on their website here. If you don't want to purchase tickets online you can always do so in person (cash only). Most likely we will not be sold out but it is a tiny theatre. Also a reminder that parking in that area isn't the best but there is a few $3 lots on sixth avenue in Hillcrest.

If you want a good laugh check out Tea With Lemon's blog about the show here.

Breast Cancer Walk 2009

I believe this is my third time doing the Race for the Cure and I think so far my best. We put a team of 15 together this year through the PLD and I am hoping to continue this tradition and who knows maybe even do the three day. This year the walk meant quite a lot to me. Just a few months ago a dear friend of my from high school whom sadly I have not been in touch with for years died from breast cancer and I believe she was just 32. Plus of course my Aunt Jenn, whom I have walked for every year, survived breast cancer many years ago. I'm proud to say we raised $1,872.00 and I hope next year we'll raise even more. Here are some great photos of the event.Team PLD before the race: Ca La, Sarah, Jennifer, Eliza, Charlie (our token male), Jeni, Jennifer, Melinda, Jenn, Jessica, Leah, Penny, Me, and Lilly

We had t-shirts made for the event this year. The front said, "PL Double D's and the back Save Second Base". Save Second Base was very popular and we even had a few people ask to take pictures of the back of our t-shirts.

A Day Off

Last weekend Josh and I took a day off and checked out the Antique Tractor Museum in Vista. The weather turned out beautiful but a little hot. It was still nice just to be outside for the day. It was pretty amazing the old tractors that they had not only on exhibit but that still ran.

This is the type of tractor Josh learned how to drive on when he was a kid, a Farmall

And then I got a picture in front of a tractor very similar to the one my Mom and Uncle learned how to drive on.

They had some VERY large tractors there. This one ran too.

And some HUGE engines that also ran.

An actual steam roller in action. The tractor parade they had was pretty damn amazing. They had all kinds of antique tractors and other farm vehicles still running.

Steve & Nicole's Wedding

Mr & Mrs. Schmitz

I do apologize. It seems I'm a bit behind on the bigger events that have happened this month. Life has been crazy busy but I seem to have a few moments today. Back on October 4th Josh and I were involved with our friend Steve's wedding. We were the DJ's and the sound people for the whole sha-bang. May I just say being DJ is NOT an easy job. The wedding day was absolutely beautiful. I don't think they could have asked for better weather.

Instead of a cake Steve and Nicole had cupcakes made by one of the girls that Steve works with. This was her first real "gig" and she did an excellent job. The cupcakes were in three different flavors I believe and all very tasty.

After the music finally got on it's way we were able to sit back and enjoy ourselves and the open bar. Above is the best man, Joe, and his sister, Jenn, being well brother and sister.

Jenn and I just hanging out outside

Ah, finally a free moment to enjoy ourselves.

If you click on the first photo it should take you to pictures of the whole event.

Spoiled Cats

All three of the cats have now figured out when Josh is making fish.

It's also the only time they all get along so well.
